Bio, Jennifer John-Violin • Viola • Chamber Music Coaching

Jennifer John is Director of String Chamber Music at Greenville’s Fine Arts Center https://www.fineartscenter.net and former Violin Teacher and Director of Concertato Strings at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. She has served as Professor of Violin at the University of Colorado Boulder and Faculty Emeritus at Aspen Music Festival and School. Jennifer holds a Level 3 Teaching Endorsement from the Paul Rolland Society.

A former concertmaster of several orchestras, she studied with Dorothy DeLay, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Paul Kantor, Lawrence Maves, and Francesca Koscielny. Jennifer earned her master’s from the University of Michigan and her bachelor’s from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

She performs as a soloist and chamber musician, leads masterclasses and workshops nationwide, and plays a 1735 Michael Platner violin. Jennifer lives in Greenville, SC, with her son Henry and five dogs.
